Thomas Kearsley bought this property in the spring of 2011, when it was running about forty head of Angus on land that had not been properly fenced in a decade. The name came from the canyon creek that cuts the south pasture, a narrow slot of cottonwood and limestone that fills with snowmelt in April and runs clear and cold all summer. The first two years were mostly repair work: fences, the bunkhouse roof, a water line to the upper pasture. Guests did not come until 2013, and even then it was mostly friends of friends who wanted somewhere quiet to ride.
